Moudjahidine expect from Hollande "more important" gestures than last 17 October’s

PARIS (France)- Former officials of France Federation of the National Front of Liberation (FLN) declared to APS, on the eve of President François Hollande working visit to Algeria that they expect "more important moves" than that made last 17 October.

Mohand Akli Benyounès, nicknamed "Daniel", former executive of FLN France Federation in Paris said "keeping in mind the greatest step forward" of Hollande (the recognition of the repression of 17 October 1961 demonstrations), expressing his hope to see "this gesture followed by more important steps."

"I have no resentment against the French State, but the recognition of its colonial past in Algeria is necessary," he said noting that "France which sometimes shows itself as lesson-givers regarding the Shoah, Armenian genocide trying even to break the diplomatic relations with Turkey, must first "clean up its own backyard."
